Exploring ...

So, phil arrived in victoria on friday for a few days - was great that he was able to get away from the stress over in nz and hopefully get rejuvinated over here, thanks to his daughter who smiles and smiles and smiles..

Anyway, we spent a day doing a bit of driving around, and went to his granny's old farm and visited other family spots along the way, was a lovely day and was great to be out in the fresh, green air.

Winterfold....post quake

It feels like it has been a lifetime ago that i accessed the blog - so much has happened, namely the earthquake last week that hit. I won't dwell on it on the blog and most of you know what happened and how horrible it was, resulting in me taking lulu out of there and safely to Winterfold.

So, here we are. Phil has stayed on in Christchurch with Sam and Zules and is trying to get back to normal along with the rest of Christchurch. There are still aftershocks, yesterday one of 6. something - but we are hoping that they are starting to slow down.

Coming to Winterfold is like a soothing balm. Its like coming 'home'. The beautiful birdsong wakes me up before Lulu does and i open the blinds to look out on green, green, green - as far as you can see, Gum trees, and just wetness. Since being here, we have had sunshine and big ploppy, heavy rain today - just lovely. Lulu, has been so good and has settled well. As for granny and grandpa time - lulu has been popped into bed for morning cuddles with granny and they have grinned and chatted to eachother very happily. So, so lovely to see. I feel very very lucky to be here and to feel safe. I feel lucky to be able to watch lulu be adored, i just feel lucky.

I am going to put up photos, i didn't bring my camera here in my hasty departure from NZ, so will post some photos with granny's camera soon.
Since writing this, the sun has come out, the clouds have gone, the rain has gone and i have spotted a kookaburra on the gum tree in the garden. It is ridiculously lovely here.

Today, grandpa John and Granny-Lou came for lunch and again, i feel lucky that lulu has such a special family around her.

Meanwhile poor Phil is in NZ and no doubt feeling a bit lonesome so as soon as things have settled lulu and i will wend our way back. In the meantime, i will soak up as much aussie air and still-ground that i can.

write more and post some photies up soon.
